This piece merges the botanical ornamentation of classic silversmithing with the industrial technicality of timekeeping mechanics, establishing a kinematic dialogue between organic form and the machine.
The Articulated Body: The central core is constructed from pierced main plates rescued from antique travel clocks. Arranged in symmetrical pairs and joined by minute jump rings, these sections form an articulated, accordion-like system that grants movement, flexibility, and ergonomic fluidness to the piece.
Sterling Silver Terminations: The structure is framed at its extremities by sculpted fragments from a Victorian sterling silver coin purse with Art Nouveau influences. The top capital retains the original press-clasp featuring hand-engraved floral motifs, while the triangular base finishes the pendant’s geometry with exceptional silversmithing refinement.
Suspension & Counterweight: The piece suspends from an adjustable metallic zipper collar fastened to the top silver clasp. At the back, the zipper drop finishes with the engraved handle of a vintage silver utensil, serving as a tactile and stylistic counterweight that balances the sculpture in 360 degrees.
